The Role of Parking in Access and Mobility: A Major Player in Today's Transportation Infrastructure
In December 2015, the Department of Transportation (DOT) launched the Smart City Challenge. They asked mid-sized cities across America to develop ideas for an integrated, first-of-its-kind smart transportation system that would use data, applications, and technology to help people and goods move more quickly, cheaply, and efficiently.
The Challenge generated responses from 78 applicant cities. Each, shared the challenges they face and ideas for how to tackle them. The list was narrowed to seven finalists who will work with the DOT to further develop and enhance their ideas.
